Asked a listless student to his teacher face-to-face
Amid an IT lecture moving at a glacial pace,
“How do gadgets and devices change the way we live?
Beyond a smidge of comfort or the answers that they give?”
To the curious pupil, said the teacher with a smile,
“Why, technology’s propelled the world, ahead a country mile,
Be it buying via Internet, talking borders apart
Business, learning or finance… IT plays its part!”
Had the online realm ceased to exist, things would spiral fast
No Google, YouTube or WhatsApp, the world no more as vast
Vehicles stuck, UPI void, civilians in a rage
Data lost, essentials hit, once more in the Stone Age
“Graced by minds with visions bright, pioneers of their time,
Babbage, Turing, Berners-Lee… innovators in their prime
Built the groundwork for the globe today, their creations lit the spark
For an ever-evolving landscape, and surely left a mark”
The satisfied student took his seat, the session went on as before
Except he didn’t feel the urge to let out a yawn, or snore
Without tech, he thought to himself, they’d fall into desolation,
So for the first time ever, he opened his textbook and tried to pay attention.
